STUCO Holds Dodgeball Tournament as a Fundraiser

On Nov. 13th, the Spring Hill High School Student Council held
its third annual student dodgeball tournament to raise funds in
conjunction with its food drive for the local food pantry. Ten teams
participated, and the Prestige Worldwide team took the championship,
which making them back-to-back tournament winners. The winning team
will play a team of teachers at the high school's next pep rally.
Thanks to everyone who participated!
FFA Receives Gift and Honors
On Oct. 29th, Spring Hill High School's FFA program was honored with
a special gift during an all-student assembly. A representative of
Pfizer Animal Health presented Becky Sullivan’s national officer
jacket to the Spring Hill FFA Chapter. Sullivan, who now attends
Kansas State University, is a SHHS graduate. As part of the
presentation, Sullivan addressed students and challenged them to get
involved and set goals. She is only the second national officer to
come from East Central FFA District, and only the second national
secretary to come from Kansas. Pfizer Animal Health purchased the
jacket for $2,000 to support the FFA Foundation. In addition,
Micheal Strohschein, SHHS teacher and FFA sponsor, and Stasi McKibbin, former SHHS teacher, were honored with the Unsung Hero
Award and a $2,000 grant by ING.
Activity Passes Promote Spirit and Offer Convenience
High school student passes are now available for $30. This pass
will admit Spring Hill High School students to all home SHHS-sponsored
athletic events, excluding invitational tournaments and KSHSAA-sponsored
events. The Frontier League charges $3 admission for students. SHHS
has approximately 40 home dates, excluding tournaments and
post-season. If a student went to all home games, it would be a
savings of $90 for SHHS students.
Adult convenience passes also are being offered this year. This
adult pass would be offered as a convenience to alleviate the need
for individual cash purchases at each event. The Frontier League
charges $5 admission for adults, and SHHS would offer a 10-punch
ticket for $50 or a 20-punch ticket for $100. This pass can be
applied to home athletic events, excluding invitational tournaments
and KSHSAA-sponsored events.
To purchase either a student or adult pass, please see Pam Gibson in
the SHHS office or contact her by phone at 592-7239 or via email
gibson@usd230.org.
