Parent-Teacher Conference & Schedule Information
Parent-teacher conferences are just around the corner. The following is a
schedule for conferences:
Wednesday, February 10:
- Early release at 1:10 p.m. for all-day kindergarten through 2nd grade
- Conferences from 4-8 p.m.
- No school for preschool and ½ day kindergarten.
Thursday, February 11:
- No school
- Half day teacher in-service in the morning
- Conferences at 1-4 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. conferences
Friday, February 12: No school
Monday, February 15: No school
The teachers have been working together to try to schedule times that will
allow those of you with more than one child attending the building and SHIS to
have consecutive times. If we missed any multiple child families, let us know.
Please call 592-7277 and ask for your child’s teacher if you need any further
assistance.
Record Number of Dads Attend SHES Event
On
Jan. 29th, more than 425 dads and their students attended the annual
Donuts for Dads event at Spring Hill Elementary School. Besides
sharing time together over donuts and juice, the dads had the
opportunity to find out more about the school's Watch D.O.G.S.
program and sign up to spend a day at the school. The morning was a
great success and the school's Watch D.O.G.S calendar has been
filled up through the end of the year!Free & Reduced Lunch Information
The district offers a Child Nutrition Benefit Program and encourages families
to apply for its free or reduced breakfast and lunch program. Families meeting
certain income standards set by the federal government are eligible. Please
note, application forms are now available on the
Food Services page.
YMCA Offers Before and After School Care
The YMCA of Greater Kansas
City offers its childcare program to school district families.
Specifically, the YMCA School Age Program (Y-Care) gives parents
options for before, after or both before and after school care for
school-aged children. Program hours will be 6:30 a.m. to the start
of school, and then from the end of school to 6 p.m. For more information about the program and registration, read the

New Immunizations Required
Beginning with the 09-10 school year, new requirements have been put into
place regarding immunizations for students. For more
