Fall 2017 Season

Heat & Hydration Resources for Parents and Staff

Keeping student athletes safe as they begin fall sports practices is the district’s top priority. Please take time to review some of the information provided by the Kansas State High School Activities Association.

KSHSAA Heat & Hydration information.  Compiled with the assistance of the Kansas Athletic Trainers Society, here you will find a heat index chart, recommended activity modifications based on the heat index, signs and symptoms of heat illness, and proper hydration recommendations.

Heat Index Lookup.  This is a simple tool to find the heat index in any area.  This tool is used as a guide by the athletic director and coaches.

Play it Safe in the Heat.  Compiled by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, this is another great resource containing tips for prevention of heat illness.

  • New Physical Form & Immunizations Required

All student-athletes planning to participate in sports are required by KSHSAA to complete and return their "Physical Packet" to the school's office. You are required to use the most updated version of the PPE form (Rev. 1/15). For more information about immunization requirements, please visit the immunization web page.

Please note that physicals obtained for the previous school year are not valid for the 2017-18 school year.  To be valid for the upcoming school year, physicals must be dated after May 1, 2017.  Spring Hill High School requires a copy of ALL forms, SIGNED, and on file in the office prior to the start of practice.  A student missing paperwork or signatures cannot practice until everything is complete.

  • Activities Handbook

The SHHS Activities Handbook contains the policies and procedures by which Spring Hill High School will conduct its interscholastic activities. Click on Handbook.
