Where am I?

Band

Welcome to the SHHS Bronco Band program! The purpose of the music program at Spring Hill High School is to provide a fun, exciting and well-rounded education for every student. Instruction is geared to foster the spirit of learning within each student so that they receive a quality music education. The program encompasses concert, jazz, pep and marching bands.

A Message from Director Dan Wooge:

Marching Band
Marching band 2013-2014 begins with camp and is from August 5th-9th from 8:00 to 3:00 with a one hour break for lunch from 12:00-1:00.  The week before is Drumline camp.  The dates will be July 29th through August 1st from 9:00-11:00.  Marching season then continues through late October.  Along with daily rehearsals, students will have REQUIRED sectionals once a week at 7:15 as well as numerous performances.  Students must memorize music and practice outside of class and sections.  This class meets first hour.

Concert Band

Concert band will begin at the conclusion of Marching band.  Students will perform in concerts and competitions as well as opportunities for solos and ensembles.

Jazz Band

Jazz band meets second hour and has grown to nearly a full compliment.  For the 2013-2014 year, the jazz band will be an auditioned group.  If you want to get started preparing, contact Mr. Wooge.   We will work out of the Essential Elements jazz method as well as performing many different styles of sheet music.  As part of a rotation, students will also present short Youtube videos on selected jazz artists. Students will perform at concerts, community events, and another chance we get!
