Building Closures & Service Availability
“Under Construction” will be this summer’s theme in the Spring Hill School District. New construction projects will continue, including Wolf Creek Elementary School as well as the expansion of Prairie Creek Elementary School. In addition, multiple projects in existing buildings will cause staff relocations and partially or completely limit access to some facilities! Here’s the scoop:
- Spring Hill Elementary & Middle Schools — The installation of new energy-efficient heating and cooling systems will require these buildings to be completely shut down. Office staff will relocate by June 1st. Beginning on June 4th, there will be no access to the buildings until the projects are done. The SHES office staff will be moving to the District Service Center, and the SHMS staff members will be relocating to the high school. Phone numbers for these people will not change during this time.
- Prairie Creek Elementary School — The expansion of the school is moving along and expected to be completed on schedule. However, it is important to note that additional parking spaces are slated to be installed this summer. This will make it difficult at times to access the building. Please call ahead.
- Technology Updates — A large number of computers are being replaced this summer. In addition, the wireless connectivity project that was part of the bond program requires changing out much of the infrastructure that supports district technology. Besides hardware updates, many programs and systems (Skyward and others) need to undergo maintenance, which will cause intermittent interruptions in service and on some days (especially Fridays), no service will be available.
