Where am I?
Graduation and Promotion Ceremonies Held
May 23, 2012
Families and friends recently gathered to celebrate students’ accomplishments at Spring Hill High School’s (SHHS) graduation and also at Spring Hill Middle School’s (SHMS) 8th Grade Promotion.
On May 19th, more than 3,000 well-wishers gathered to watch more than 160 students walk across the stage in the SHHS main gym. The new graduates joined the ranks of the Bronco alumni and now take on new challenges, with the vast majority continuing their education at the next level. Besides many accolades and awards being announced, eight valedictorians and seven salutatorians were honored. Dr. Angelo Cocolis, SHHS principal, also oversaw his final commencement ceremony prior to retirement this summer. The students gave him a special jarful of marbles, as a memento of their time with him. The Class of 2012 was the largest class to ever graduate from the high school.
Eighth graders at Spring Hill Middle School also celebrated their academic accomplishment at a May 21st promotion ceremony. The 157 students will continue their academic career at SHHS next fall. American Legion and citizenship awards were given out as well as recognition of academic achievements. The promotion ceremony was proceeded by a breakfast and awards ceremony in the morning.
Congratulations to all of the students and new Bronco alumni!
