Prairie Creek Elementary School Benefits from the Stampede of Speed

May 09, 2012

This year’s PTO-sponsored fundraiser at Prairie Creek Elementary School raised monies to be used for field trips and other school needs and also encouraged participants to get moving! The 1.5-mile walk, known as the Mustang March, raised more than $13,000.

The theme for this year’s Mustang March was Stampede of Speed.  Held on May 4th, hundreds of people put on their walking shoes and completed the walk. To help raise funds, families worked in advance to get pledges and donations for the 1.5-mile walk.  In addition, there was a barbeque dinner, silent auction, staff raffle, and live music. Each student in the school received a free t-shirt prior to the event so that the Mustangs were able to show their pride, as they walked, jogged and ran the course.

Thank you to everyone who participated as well as helped organize this great event!
