District Earns Record Number of Standards of Excellence

The Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) recently announced the results of its 2012 statewide assessments – and Spring Hill District schools earned 31 Standards of Excellence awards, which is more than ever before. Congratulations!
To achieve this mark, schools by grade level and by building must meet even more stringent academic goals. The ability to garner 31 Standards of Excellence is impressive since the state’s goals continue to rise each year. In fact, the overall academic performance across the state dipped slightly in 2012 for the first time since 2001.
Here is a list of Standards of Excellence earned by district schools:
Spring Hill High School
• Reading – Building-wide
• Math – Building-wide
• History/Government – Building-wide
Spring Hill Middle School
• Math – Grades 6, 7, 8 and Building-wide
• Reading – Grades 6, 7, 8 and Building-wide
• Science – Building-wide
Spring Hill Intermediate School
• Math – Grade 3, 4, 5 and Building-wide
• Reading – Grades 3, 4, 5 and Building-wide
Prairie Creek Elementary School
• Math – Grades 3, 4, 5 and Building-wide
• Reading – Grades 3, 4, 5 and Building-wide
• Science – Building-wide
Insight School of Kansas
• Reading – 11 and Building-wide
Please note that Spring Hill Elementary School (Grades PreK-2) is not included in the listing since students begin taking statewide assessments in the third grade.
