District Releases 2012 ACT Scores

August 23, 2012

The Spring Hill School District announced that the 2012 ACT composite scores for district schools matched or exceeded both state and national averages.  High school students who are college-bound take the ACT as a readiness test prior to continuing their education.

Trend Information

  • Spring Hill High School 2012 – Composite Score: 21.9  (133 students were tested)
  • Spring Hill High School 2011 – Composite Score: 22.2  (98 students were tested)
  • Insight School of Kansas 2012 – Composite Score: 22.6  (17 students were tested)
  • Insight School of Kansas 2011 – Composite Score: 19.7  (11 students were tested)

“Looking beyond composite scores, it is clear that taking upper-level courses throughout high school improves students’ achievement on the ACT and better prepares them for post-secondary education,” said Dr. Karen Brack, director of curriculum, instruction and assessment.

In addition, Spring Hill High School offers a semester-long ACT preparation course that helps students maximize their results. All sophomores also now take the plan test, which is a practice ACT, to identify areas that need to be strengthened prior to taking the official test.
