Spring Hill School District Welcomes New Teachers and Staff

The Spring Hill School District welcomes 17 new teachers and staff members to its ranks, as the 2012-13 school year approaches. The new teachers and administrator include:
Roberta Barthol joins Spring Hill High School (SHHS) as an agriculture instructor as well as serving as FFA sponsor. She earned her bachelor’s degree in agricultural education from Kansas State University.
Kacie Deimeke joins the Spring Hill Intermediate School (SHIS) staff as a third grade teacher. She earned her license in elementary education from University of Saint Mary and her bachelor’s degree in child and family development with a minor in psychology from Missouri State University.
Tammy Endecott is the new principal of Spring Hill Intermediate School, which was effective July 1st. During the 2012-13 school year, Endecott will oversee SHIS. Beginning in the fall of 2013, she will take over as principal of Spring Hill Elementary School, which will be reconfigured to serve students in grades preschool through 5, including students from SHIS. Endecott previously taught fifth grade at Prairie Creek Elementary School (PCES) while she was completing her master’s degree. For the past two years, she has been principal of an elementary school in the Santa Fe Trail District (Overbrook, Kan.).
Jacqueline Freund will serve as a fifth grade teacher at SHIS. She received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education with a concentration in mathematics from Kansas State University.
Jennifer Houck joins the PCES staff this year, as a fifth grade teacher. She earned her bachelor’s degree in human environmental science from University of Arkansas-Fayetteville and completed the elementary teaching licensure program at Ottawa University.
Heather Jasper joins the SHHS staff as a guidance counselor. Jasper has a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from Kansas State University, and also master’s degrees in education and counseling from Avila College and University of Missouri-Kansas City. Jasper has 12 years of teaching experience and five years of counseling experience, including as counselor at SHHS in 2009-2010.
Mary Larson will serve as a special education teacher at SHHS. She has a bachelor’s degree from Hardin Simmons University in Texas, completed the graduate education program at Avila University and earned her master’s degree in special education from Baker University. She also will serve as an assistant volleyball coach at SHMS.
Nathaniel Leibel becomes part of the SHIS staff and will serve as a fourth grade teacher. Leibel has bachelor’s degree in elementary education from MidAmerica Nazarene University.
Amee Pacheco comes to SHIS to teach third grade. Pacheco received her bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Kansas. She has more than 8 years of teaching experience.
Ruby Reynolds becomes part of the Spring Hill School District staff and will serve as a special education teacher at PCES. She earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Emporia State University.
Jolene Rutledge joined the Spring Hill Middle School staff in early 2012, as a social studies and language arts teacher. She graduated from Ottawa University with a bachelor’s degree in English.
Jennifer Schmidtberger will serve as an early childhood special education teacher at Spring Hill Elementary School. Schmidtberger earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Ottawa University.
Kaitlin Shelton becomes a member of the SHIS staff and will teach fourth grade. She received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Emporia State University.
Jamie Starling has joined the SHIS staff and will teach third grade. She received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Baker University. Starling also will serve as assistant coach for both volleyball and basketball at SHMS.
Anna Sturman will serve as a fourth grade teacher at PCES. She received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Kansas State University.
Kristine Tillery joins the SHIS staff as a special education teacher. She earned her elementary education degree from Northwest Missouri State University, and her master’s degree in adaptive curriculum from the University of Kansas. She has 14 years of teaching experience.
Daniel Wooge will serve as band instructor for both Spring Hill Middle and High Schools. He earned his bachelor’s degree in music education from Baker University and his master’s degree from Emporia State University. He has 15 years of teaching experience and numerous awards for his work.
