Where am I?
Budget & Elementary Boundaries Town Hall Meeting, Aug. 13th
August 07, 2012
On Monday, Aug. 13th, the Spring Hill Board of Education will hold a budget hearing and also a town hall meeting to discuss proposed new boundaries for the district's elementary schools. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a presentation about the budget, and then proposed elementary school boundaries will be outlined (beginning at approximately 7 p.m.). The public will have the opportunity to ask questions and make comments at the meeting. The event will be held at Hilltop Education Center, 16740 W. 175th Street, Olathe, Kan.
The budget hearing will include an overview of the district's proposed 2012-13 operating budget. The proposed budget includes a slight reduction to the district's mill levy, which if it is approved by the board would make it the fifth consecutive year that the levy has dropped.
In addition, the district's demographer will outline proposed boundary lines for the elementary schools. The changes will go into effect next August, when Wolf Creek Elementary School is completed. The public will have the opportunity to ask questions and make comments. Additional meetings will be held at the current elementary schools this fall to ensure that families have the opportunity to share their input.
