Where am I?

Material Science and Technology

4th Quarter is upon us!  I can hardly believe it!  Material Science students will finally get to start working on lost wax casting of their rings.  This is one of the most exciting experiences for students.  They will learn how to create wax models, create an investment burnout mold of their ring, and actually cast their ring with molten metal!

In addition, we will finish 4th quarter by studying Polymers which is our last and final material type of the year.

4th Quarter is upon us.  Students will be busy studying concepts such as states of matter, gas laws, and solution concentration.  They will be busy in the lab (as they always are) as they boil water at 40 degrees Celsius , allow air to crush an aluminum can, and make dry ice become a liquid!

Another item of focus for our students is the Science State Assessment test.  Juniors are required to take the Physical Science portion of that test on April 16.
