Seventh Grade Health, Kansas History, and World Regions Instructor

Welcome to seventh grade Health, Kansas History, and World Regions.  All of these courses are required for seventh graders.

Health emphasizes concepts for healthy living.  Students will engage in various projects and activities to help them gain a better understanding of themselves and develop healthy habits to enjoy a well-balanced life.   Areas of focus include mental health, family and social health, growth and development, nutrition, exercise and fitness, disease cause and prevention, and drug awareness.  Project Alert will give students an opportunity to role play good decision making skills and practice refusal skills.

Kansas History is a first semester course that traces Kansas from primeval land to present.  Students participate in a variety of projects and events about Kansas.  Areas of Kansas studied include government, economics, geography, culture and people.  In addition, local history about Spring Hill is included in this class.

                                                                                                                                                                 Extra credit opportunities include attending a Spring Hill Historical Society meeting and Talking Tombstones.

World Regions is a second semester course that covers the study of Canada, Latin America, Europe, and Asia.  Areas explored include culture, geography, government, economics, people, and important events.
