Movies |
| The 40s were a boom time for movies also.
Government declared the movie industry to be essential for boosting
morale and sharing war updates and propaganda. Hollywood was full
of glamorous movie stars. The number of costume designers grew and also the number of young stars grew.
If you lived in the city, every Saturday night the thing to do would be
to go to the movie house. They would start out with news reels of
updates on the war. The movie
stars did their part for the war effort by entertaining the troops at USO
shows. The people that we questioned for our "Kids View" project remembered seeing many movies stars on the silver screen. Some of them are seen below. |
